This is Yamazaki from BRIVISTA (formerly nobodyhike).

Thank you for your patience to those who have been eagerly awaiting a restock. We are now accepting pre-orders for the "Trail Camera Pouch 2."

This isn't just a restock; it has undergone so many evolutions that it could be called a "full model change." I would like to share the history of this product and the thoughts behind the two years of trial and error and improvements. I hope you will read it to the end.

The Brand's Origin: An "Answer" Born from Real Experience

Hiking and cameras are inseparable for me. The ridge lines spread out before me, a momentary shaft of light. I want to capture that emotion in a single perfect shot.

However, there was the anxiety of carrying precision equipment exposed in harsh mountain environments. If I hung it around my neck with a strap, the swaying bothered me, and I tried camera capture devices, but the interference with my body and the uneven distribution of weight just didn't "feel right." I was constantly stressed about not finding an ideal way to carry it.

"I want gear that allows me to walk in the mountains safely and without missing a moment."

From this earnest personal dilemma, the brand's origin, the "Trail Camera Pouch," was born.

The first model, finally realized in March 2023 after repeated field tests, was praised by many for its advantage of being able to "quickly take out the camera to capture a moment even during tough hikes, and smoothly put it back when finished." The high evaluations from everyone who used it in the field were the greatest joy for me as a maker. Thank you very much.

Two Years of Conflict: "I can make it even better."

Even after it sold out, I always had the desire to "evolve it further." I wanted to deliver something that I considered the best right now, not just the same product, to those who were waiting for a restock.

So, we conducted a survey for our users, and we received many valuable opinions. In June 2024, empowered by your voices, the redesign began to materialize even greater ideals.

The development process, in pursuit of an ideal, was sometimes solitary, with days spent agonizing over prototypes that "didn't quite meet expectations."

I would re-work the design by myself, present it to my artisan partner, and have samples remade countless times. I encountered numerous obstacles each time I faced minute, millimeter-level adjustments and the difficulties of sewing.

However, I absolutely did not want to compromise on what I delivered to everyone waiting for a restock. Although it took a lot of time, I finally managed to create the "Trail Camera Pouch 2" that I envisioned.

Fabric

While the "WeatherMAX® 80" used in the first model offered excellent functionality, the new model prioritizes even greater "waterproofing" and "lightness," evolving to "X-PAC V21." Below is a comparison of their specifications.

"X-PAC VX21" is a high-tech material developed by Dimension-Polyant, the world's leading manufacturer of yacht sails.

WeatherMAX® 80, used in the first model, was also an excellent material with superior waterproofing and toughness. The new "Trail Camera Pouch 2" aims to build upon that reliability and reach even greater heights.

The greatest feature of X-PAC is the **combination of overwhelming waterproofing and further weight reduction**. Since the fabric itself is completely impervious to water, it protects valuable equipment from sudden weather changes (excluding seams). This material, which is strong yet lighter than WeatherMAX® 80, was the only answer for realizing my ideal of "lightness, strength, and waterproofing."

Size

The left shows the first model, and the right shows the new model.

Although the numerical difference is slight, we have added approximately 0.5cm to the width, height, and depth of the exterior dimensions, and approximately 1cm to the interior dimensions.

By securing the height (max 21.4cm) and width (17.8cm), it can now accommodate full-frame mirrorless cameras with wider bodies, cameras with standard zoom lenses attached, and even cameras with lens hoods still on. This makes it a reliable choice for a wider range of camera models than the first model.

Weight

Due to the increase in size and adjustments to parts caused by changes in tape width, the new model gained 7g compared to the first model, but we minimized this by reducing the weight of the fabric and cushioning material.

Even with the increase in weight, you'll be surprised by its lightness when you hold it. The weight is satisfying even for UL (ultralight) hikers who prioritize weight reduction.

Cushion Structure

This was the most challenging part of this project. While the 8mm thick cushion of the first model prioritized protection, it led to manufacturing difficulties and a problem with some units not meeting acceptable quality standards (sewing defects).

"As a brand, I wanted to guarantee 100% reliable quality."

With that in mind, I decided to switch to a high-density 5mm thick cushion. It wasn't just made thinner. To prevent the sponge from losing its shape, we implemented a painstaking reinforcement by directly sewing a firm mesh fabric to the surface. This created the ideal framework that is "thin, strong, and resistant to deformation." Below is a prototype.

Furthermore, an additional removable 5mm thick cushion is placed on the bottom, where it receives the most impact. The bottom now has a total protective layer equivalent to 10mm, offering even greater peace of mind than the first model.

Strap Width

In the first model, we occasionally encountered instances where "the base of the tape would come undone." I took this seriously, and for this new model, this was a crucial area for reinforcement.

First, by widening the tape to 2cm, we physically distributed the load on the seams. Furthermore, at the joint, we implemented more than double the usual backstitching and a unique reinforcement pattern that prevents the load from concentrating at a single point.

It boasts far greater load-bearing capacity than the first model, achieving reliable durability that can withstand harsh usage.

Pocket Width

To maximize the convenience of the front pocket for small items, its width has been significantly expanded from 12cm to 18cm.

To address the issue of small items in the corner of the pocket being difficult to retrieve, we adopted a full-width design that extends from one end of the pouch to the other. This makes it easier to access spare batteries, SD card cases, lens filters, and other items.

Carabiner

The carabiners that support the pouch have been completely redesigned from conventional plastic to more robust S-shaped stainless steel carabiners.

This time, we adopted **two S-shaped stainless steel carabiners** as accessories. Here, we prioritized "**rigidity**" enough to entrust heavy equipment to it, rather than "lightness." We eliminated the age-related deterioration and breakage risks specific to plastic and chose a tough specification that can withstand impacts in rocky areas. Furthermore, by adopting S-shaped carabiners with two gates, it is now easier to attach and detach them from backpacks.

The surface is engraved with the BRIVISTA brand logo. In addition to the functional peace of mind, we have evolved it into a special part that evokes the excitement of a professional tool every time you hold it.

Durable Design

We intentionally designed the movable range of both ends of the zipper to be 1.8cm shorter on each side than the first model.

While the opening may feel slightly narrower at first glance, this is an important update to ensure long-term durability. By securing adequate clearance (seam allowance) at the ends of the zipper, we have thoroughly eliminated the risk of zipper failure (puncture) due to fabric overlap and maximized the sewing strength of the movable parts that bear the most stress.

Woven Label

With the brand renewal, the logo has been updated from "nobodyhike" to "BRIVISTA."

The "hawk" engraved on the new emblem symbolizes our determination to soar towards an unseen victorious destination (Vista), clad in brilliant (Brilliant) and refined ultimate equipment.

This high-definition woven label is produced using Japanese craftsmanship. It achieves both durability that won't fade even in harsh environments and a sense of dignity that evokes excitement every time you hold it.

Color Options

This release will be available only in black. It's a basic finish that easily matches various backpack colors and highlights the texture of X-PAC VX21. We hope you will experience the new comfort starting with this standard BRIVISTA color.

Price and Pre-order Bonus

As the new BRIVISTA, we have set the following price after creating a high-performance pouch for hikers without any compromise.

Trail Camera Pouch 2
List Price: 23,100 JPY (incl. tax)

While we have revised the price from the initial model, this was a decision made to elevate the "Trail Camera Pouch 2" to a level of perfection that can withstand even tougher mountain treks.

The switch to "X-PAC VX21," the adoption of high-rigidity stainless steel carabiners with engraved logos, and the addition of complex processes by skilled domestic artisans. From material selection to labor costs, the quality typically found in high-end backpacks is condensed into this small pouch.

Compared to overseas models on the market, we are confident that our product surpasses them in "product density" and "usability."

Future Developments

We are currently developing a "dedicated strap" for separate sale, a feature that was highly requested in our survey.

We are still in the prototype and refinement stage, so we will announce further details on our blog and social media once they are decided. We are preparing to combine it with the pouch itself to provide an even more comfortable shooting experience, so please look forward to it.

【Finally】To you who walk and photograph nature

From the material, size, cushioning, to millimeter-level reinforcement. I have earnestly listened to the voices of everyone who has used it in the field, and above all, I have thoroughly refined it to a level where I myself am convinced, "This is exactly what I wanted; I can entrust my beloved equipment to this."

This "Trail Camera Pouch 2" is the culmination of two years of my passion and trial and error.

It would be my greatest joy if this new companion could support your wonderful mountain excursions and help you capture the best shots that color your life.

To unseen vistas, with refined equipment.
